What’s the postcode for the Royal Armouries Museum? LS10 1LT

What’s access like? Everything is on the ground floor. Please read the RA’s Accessibility Information here Accessibility | Royal Armouries Conference & Events

It is about ten paces from the Holiday Inn Express (for those staying) to the door of New Dock Hall. And not much further to get to the museum itself.

Is there a car park nearby? Yes, it’s on site. Postcode is LS10 1LE. Visit www.citipark.co.uk/car-parks/leeds/clarence-leeds-dock – parking can be prebooked. If staying at Holiday Inn, don’t prebook as they validate your parking ticket while in residence and you get a discount.

Is there disabled parking? Yes, there’s plenty in the multi-storey, but there are also some disabled spaces right outside the Holiday Inn Express.

Do I need to print my ticket? If you prefer, but the QR code on your phone will be fine. Our scanning system is ultra-fast.

What sort of trolley am I allowed to bring? No LARGE SUITCASES or trolleys bigger than a shopper/folding shopping trolley. Nothing like this. Nothing that will injure anyone else. Something like this would be much more appropriate.

What will the authors sign? Most authors will sign whatever you put in front of them (within reason). Please don’t be offended if some authors have a limit on the number of items they will sign, sometimes it’s due to strain on their hand. All the authors are happy to talk books and for you to take away some swag.

Is it mandatory to pre-order books? By no means is it mandatory, but some authors have huge lists and won’t be bringing every book they’ve ever written along with them. Pre-ordering guarantees you’ll get the book(s) you want. Particularly, special editions tend to be pre-order ONLY.

What will be for sale on the day? Everything! Lots of authors will be selling many of their titles on the day and our vendors will have many amazing items for sale, too.

Can I bring books to be signed? You’re allowed to bring with you copies of your favourite books purchased in store/online before the event.

How do I pay for books and merchandise on the day? Most authors and sellers will accept either cash or card, or have their PayPal app at the ready. If disaster occurs and every device they own explodes – I am sure you’ll be notified in the FB Attendees Group if cash is the only option with them.

Are the authors happy to have a photo with me? If you’ve been to a few signings, you’ll know that most authors are! Some may be immunocompromised and might not be comfortable with this. Others might be uncomfortable with proximity. Please just ask politely because nobody will bite! Some authors prefer not to have their picture taken to keep their anonymity.
